The old me is dead
lost in the blue
without my deep head
ide be lost without you
she feeds on my cells
caters to my likes
she transforms my dying body
into rainbow-riding bikes
they ride off into sunset
they explode in neon light
the shark come to attack
but she’s nowhere in sight
i pickup broken lightbulbs
carving up my hands
blisters size of basketballs
bloody colored crayons
the porch is all lit up tonight
the town’s having a feast
the children are our worry
the grownups aren’t at least
bubbles suffocating
drowning pups at shore
rainbow flight umbrellas
shake us at our core
rigid rocks and caracoles
cotton candy teeth
kid starts running mouth
and you can hear all of the creeks
hid in sandy parking lots
where they all go to make out
kid doesn’t get lucky
so he kicks the rubble, doubt.
